Competition.

Trying to find a reason why Fedrigoni aren't the graphic design industries first choice, it's clear that their paper is of high quality and holds a huge range of selections in terms of colour and texture, it could be price, ethics, availability, or that the competitors quality is in fact better.

Looking at some Competitors.

G.F.Smith.

Looking through G.F.Smiths website and already i can see why graphic designers may prefer using them, their website is much more clean clear and crisp, one of fedrigoni's main problems in my opinions is their black background with white text on their website, i don't feel this is a great design especially for a paper company appealing to innovative, creative graphic designers. Also the G.F.Smith website is much easier to navigate and interact with, they show much more imagery of the process of making the paper, another attribute Fedrigoni fail to use and the images of paper samples etc. are much larger and there's more to view.

As you can see below G.F.Smith offers a lot more in aesthetics than Fedrigoni.

Unfortunately i cannot access prices for either without sending a request for them, both websites as for details and regards to which paper you would like, then the team will get back to you.

Ethics.

Both companies also show great ethics with this clearly listed with an explanation as to how they work, here are the two.

Fedrigoni.

Fedrigoni never flags in the attention it pays to sustainability and respect for the environment: that attention starts with its raw materials, which it sources exclusively from suppliers who practice responsible environmental policies, and its production facilities, whose energy comes from cogeneration plants, and continues right through to the finished product and distribution.

G.F. Smith.
Paper is a natural and sustainable resource; after all, it's recyclable and biodegradable, but by dealing in papers from sustainable sources, GFSmith is fundamentally an environmentally friendly business. However, that is not enough. To further uphold our responsibility in this respect, we are involved in a wide-ranging internal programme of environmental initiatives
