Pinwheel.

Focusing on design for the fashion collaboration we may propose for Issey Miyake, these pinwheel designs i have found are absolutely perfect for our project, they mimic his fold down dress designs almost flawless.

We considered hanging huge origami pieces of design around the catwalk to showcase the paper to another level, using these designs could really help us to create our own versions, hopefully i will find more.

Note pad.

The notepad is designed by Masashi Tentaku. The stem is an actual tree twig. The notepad has 150 sheets of notepaper. It is sold individually or in a 6 pack. It looks so realistic–it even comes with the netting like the actual fruits.

Again more inspirational design in terms of paper and it's potential, looking at creating notepads for the stationary pack we may be designing for Design agencies, although this is a great idea i'm not sure it would fit into a design agency, it's a little too playful for my liking but something a little simpler and more high impact could go a long way.

More work from Matomeno in Japan, again a great exploration of the uses of paper, and an interesting idea to create post-it notes, although i don't like the design one bit, this is the kind of thinking i need to put my mind to, different ways of creating useful tools for graphic designers to interact with and at the same time appreciate the paper used.

D-BROS.

A set of three envelopes designed by japan based design studio Matomeno, a really innovative and creative way of using paper, i appreciate this completely new way to open letters it helps the user fully interact with the paper, if we decided to continue our idea to produce a stationary pack we should look into ways to explore paper in a different way.

Pattern Matters.

Exploring some more potential ideas with pattern, the fashion industry is always exploring pattern weathers its checkered of polka dots there is always a running theme of pattern somewhere in the industry, i would like to fully explore creating complex geometric patterns through the use of paper, if we create a campaign for Issey Miyake, we could create patterned posters of his work through the years to fully investigate what makes him tick.

Looking around for useful things a design agency / Graphic designer may want / need in their office, began to think about what every office needs, a calendar could be a really interesting idea especially these i found named Pattern Matters, they have created a series of calanders and poster exploring colour and paper, beautifully designed work and an innovative use of paper craft.

Opening Cermemony.

After speaking to john about how we can expand this project to its full potential, thinking a little bigger i decided to look into Fashion Runway designs, and similar things to that.

This helped me arrive at the idea of the Olympic opening ceremony, every 4 years huge ceremonies are held and i wanted to include an aspect of that into the runway design.
